Indonesia is helping to develop 900 tourism villages

The Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry is set to launch a campaign to promote 900 tourism villages (Desa Wisata) in regions across Indonesia to persuade more foreign tourists to visit.

“We will jointly promote the tourism villages so that they can become more popular across the globe,” said Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Mari Elka Pangestu while visiting Tanjung Karang, a tourism village in Labuhan Bajo sub-district, Donggala regency, Central Sulawesi, on Saturday, as quoted by Antara news agency.

The launch of Desa Wisata was held in conjunction with Nusantara Day 2013.
According to the ministry, Central Sulawesi is one of provinces blessed with abundant maritime potentials that could be used as tourist attractions. One of the potentials is Tanjung Karang, a charming fishing village that has attracted many tourists. Tanjung Karang has been set as a Desa Wisata to maximize the use of its potentials.

“The development of Tanjung Karang as a Desa Wisata has been ongoing since 2012, although its official launch was just held today,” said Mari in her remarks.
She said Tanjung Karang village had the potential to become a popular tourist destination because the village integrated the creative industry and tourism.
“It has various culinary delights, such as grilled fish, and hand-carved handicrafts that can generate benefits for the local economy,” said Mari.

The Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry will help develop facilities in Tanjung Karang village, such as by providing more boats for tourists as well as diving equipment as it is known for its underwater biodiversity.

Mari took the opportunity to go around Tanjung Karang village and dived for around one hour. “Its underwater biodiversity, such as fish and coral, is still well-conserved,” she said.

City striker would be welcome at Roma

'He wants to feel more important!'... Dzeko's Bosnian team-mate Pjanic says City striker would be welcome at Roma.

Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko would be welcome at Roma, according to his Bosnia team-mate Miralem Pjanic.

Dzeko has consistently been linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium since his £28m move from Wolfsburg in January 2011, with several Bundesliga and Serie A clubs keen on securing his services.
The 27-year-old, who is under contract until 2015, has started just five of City’s 15 Premier League matches this term, and only one of those starts has come since the end of September.

Bosnia are keen for him to feature regularly ahead of their maiden World Cup finals appearance next summer and Roma playmaker Pjanic says the forward would be a welcome addition at the Stadio Olimpico.
'I'm in contact with him and I know he aspires to play more and feel more important (than now),' said Pjanic.

'We hope he plays more. Here in Italy he would be very good. Of course, he belongs to Manchester City but I do not know how long for.'
Dzeko played nearly 90 minutes for City in the 3-2 win against Bayern Munich on Tuesday, and was replaced late in the game by Jack Rodwell.
He has scored six goals in all competitions this term, including three in the league in just six appearances.

Pellegrini claimed earlier this month that he had no plans to let Dzeko leave the Etihad.

'I put my trust in him before the season and I have just as much trust in him now,' he said.
'It is very important for this club to have a good squad because we have a lot of games to play from now until April and, if we want to win trophies, we need important players.
