The Italian forward: "I feel like a loser". After the injury he
picked up against Brazil, Mario has left the squad because of a muscular
problem. Castellacci: "Pirlo has a good chance of playing, otherwise we
have Montolivo"
Mario Balotelli has returned to Milan. His Confederations
Cup is over.
The news was confirmed by Dr Castellacci, the Italian team
doctor, in Fortaleza at 15.40 local time. “This morning I examined
Balotelli. His physical condition (a thigh strain) is not good. And he
will not even be fit for the final on Sunday. In order not to take any
risks we have decided to send the player back to Milan after speaking
with the medical staff of AC Milan”.
upset —
Balotelli took the news very badly. His first comment revealed just how
upset he was. "I feel like a loser leaving like this. I would like to
stay here, but we have to play in the qualifying round of the Champions
League and so I need treatment. However my teammates will do well even
without me". This is what the Italian forward said as he left the
Italian team's hotel in Fortaleza, the Marina Park, on his way to the
airport where he caught a plane to Lisbon. From there he will fly to
Milan.
PIRLO AND MARCHISIO —
Castellacci also spoke about the other injured Azzurri: “Pirlo? He is
continuing to train and we are mildly optimistic. Montolivo is fine. He
will be available for selection”.
