AS Roma will face AC Milan on Monday night at San Siro stadium. It’s the last scheduled game in this round of Serie A.
Roma come in this game as neat favorites since hosts are having a lot of problems this season. Garcia’s men came back on wining tracks last round against Fiorentina at home. Before that, they have drawn four consecutive games in Italian championship.
AC Milan on the other side managed to get through the group stages in Champions League during midweek, but their success is somehow ruined by terrible form in domestic competition. Alegri’s side has won just one game out of five in almost two months now.
In last six encounters between these two sides, we have seen 15 goals scored, and four red cards shown to their players. They have two victories each and two games ended up without winner.
Home team will be without El Sharaawy, Robinho, Constant, Walter Birsa and Ignazio Abate. Roma will have to deal without Pjanić who got red card against Fiorentina, and injured Balzaretti and Borrielo. Good news for Roma fans is that their beloved captain, Francesco Totti is coming back for this one after injury that sidelined him for last seven games.
Roma coach Rudi Garcia assured their fans that they are going to Milan for all three points. “We know that playing away to Milan is more difficult, but we will take our usual approach. We are going to Milan in order to win. It will be tough, but that is our ambition”, said Garcia for Italian press.
De Rossi also wants a victory and Scudetto battle until the very end:”I don’t look at who is behind us when Juve are only three points away. We want to catch Juventus”.
Although injured, Kevin Constant rallied his men with some positive words for media: “Roma are a strong side, they play well and I am certain they will keep Juventus on their toes right to the end of the season. But I believe we can repeat the march from the second half of last season, when we came back to qualify for the Champions League”.
It remains to be seen what will happen tomorrow night, but surely we can hope for another Calcio spectacle.
Probable Lineups
AC Milan (4-3-1-2): Abbiati; De Sciglio, Bonera, Zapata, Emanuelson; Montolivo, De Jong, Muntari; Kaka; Balotelli, Matri.
AS Roma (4-3-3): De Sanctis; Maicon, Benatia, Castan, Dodo; Bradley, De Rossi, Strootman; Florenzi, Totti, Gervinho.
Men to watch
AC Milan: Kaka – Brazlilan is by far the best Milan player this season. If guests give him enough space tomorrow, he will be deadly. Expect him to deliver once more in big games.
AS Roma: Totti – Eternal captain will have the opportunity to shin once again at San Siro. Roma missed him a lot in past games, and that could have been seen on their results in Serie A. If Milan grants him just a little bit of space, be sure that he won’t make any mistakes.
